FORT COLLINS – The Hays Larks (16-3, 12-2 RMBL) rallied from an early deficit and won a 17-9 shutout against the Fort Collins Foxes Friday night in their series inning.
Fort Collins took an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first before Hays answered with four in the second inning.
The Larks went on to score three in the third and four in the forth for an 11-4 lead.
Down 15-4 through six and a half Fort Collins made it interesting, scoring five in the bottom of the seventh but Hays tacked on two the top of the eighth inning and Hays went on to secure the 17-9 win in eight innings.
Wilbert Espinal and Will Carpenter both doubled twice. Carpenter finished four-for-four with four runs scored.
Thomas Lyssy drove in four runs for the Larks.
