The Ellis County Commission will consider purchasing additional equipment for the backup dispatch center at Tuesday’s commission meeting.
With the installation and programing fees on top of the purchase of the equipment, the total price tag the commission will consider Tuesday is more than $215,000.
If approved, the backup dispatch center will be able to operate separately from the primary center, which allows that site to operate in the event there are issues with the primary center.
Ellis County Sheriff Scott Braun will update the commission on the progress of the north 911 communications tower site. Braun will also discuss a program that provides jail inmates with tablets.
The commission will also consider a bid for fencing installed around the HVAC chiller and generator pad at the Ellis County Administrative Center.
Tuesday’s commission meeting is set for 8:30 a.m. at the Administrative Center.
