St. George, KS - Hays High traveled to the Flurry on Flush tournament hosted by Rock Creek High School to close out the 2025 portion of their season.
Girls
#4 Hays 61 - Manhattan CHIEF 23
A 33-0 run by Hays High during the second and third quarter left no doubt in the outcome in the game for a 61-23 victory.
Hays trailed one time at 2-0 during the game's first 30 seconds. The Indians scored the next five points and never trailed again. The Thunder pulled within one point one more time at 5-4.
Hays went on two big runs during the game. The first occurred in the first quarter. A 16-3 run gave the Indians a 21-7 advantage and then led 21-9 after the first quarter.
Hays scored the next 33 points of the game. The Indians outscored Manhattan CHIEF 17-0 in the second to lead 38-9.
Highlights
The run continued for the next seven-plus minutes of the third quarter. Hays scored the first sixteen points of the frame for a 54-9 lead. The Thunder scored the final four points of the quarter and first two of the fourth quarter to make the score 54-15.
A continuous clock fourth quarter made quick work of the final eight minutes for a 61-23 victory for the Indians.

The Indians put three in double figures, led by the 14 first half points of Jenna Schmeidler. Molly Buckles and Zoe Winter each scored 10. Nine of the twelve Indians that played scored.
Hays faces Silver Lake in the semifinals at 3:30.

Hays 51 - Manhattan CHIEF 31
Izaac Fox scored a career high 26 to help Hays High overcome a slow start Thursday afternoon in a 51-31 victory over Manhattan CHIEF.
The Thunder jumped out early on the Indians leading by as many as seven through the first five minutes. Hays turned the tables at the end of the first and beginning of the second quarter with a 10-0 run to take the lead for good.
Hays trailed 13-10 after the first quarter. Three straight Fox field goals gave the Indians a lead they would never relinquish. Hays led 16-13 at the end of the run when the Thunder knocked in one of their two second quarter field goals. Neither team scored much through the final five minutes of the second quarter with the Indians leading 20-15 at halftime.
Highlights
Hays made 14 of 23 field goal attempts in the second half while holding the Thunder to 5 of 21 shooting. The Indians started the third quarter on an 11-1 run to take their first double digit lead at 31-18. A three pointer by CHIEF closed the gap to single digits just one final time with a three pointer at 33-24 with two minutes left in the third quarter.
Hays led by 11 going to the fourth quarter and expanded that advantage as high as 23 with a 16-4 run to open the final stanza. A final field goal by the Thunder at 51-31 settled the game.

The Indians face Hesston in the semifinals at 5:00 Friday.
