The Ellis County Health Department on Friday announced 25 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the county since Wednesday.
There are now 168 active cases, including eight active hospitalizations, and 567 recovered cases.
The seven-day percent of positive tests, which had been falling in late August and early September, jumped to 21.5 percent. Just less than 13 percent of the 5,561 total tests have returned positive for COVID-19.
According to the department's report Friday, there have been 738 total cases of coronavirus in Ellis County, including three deaths, since reporting began.
