WICHITA – The Hays High boys finished first and the girls third at Steve Crosley Invitational hosted by Wichita Heights Friday. The boys finished with 160 points, 16 better than second place Newton. The girls scored 145 points, 25 1/2 behind Wichita Heights and 16 1/2 behind second place Newton.
The Indian boys had six first place finishes led by Archer Amrein who won both the long jump (21-2.50) and triple jump (42-6). Brogan Albers won the 110 hurdles (15.39) and Parker McGuire the discus (154-11).
HHS finished had the top three finishers in the shot put. Jaxson Chartier won the event with a throw of 53-7. Tanner Geist was second (52-11) and Caleb Englert third (52-8.50).
The Indians also took the top three spots in the javelin. Corbin Giebler finished first 155-6), Jaxon Prediger second (148-7) and Warren Kirkpatrick third (135-1).
