Leona D. Jones, 83, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kansas.
Leona was born March 11, 1941, in Miami, Oklahoma, the daughter of Leon and Dolors (Gazaway) Harrington. She was a resident of Rush County, Kansas, for 25 years, moving from Stafford County, Kansas. A 1959 graduate of Commerce High School, Commerce, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Commerce, Oklahoma.
On May 25, 1960, she married Gerald F. Jones in Miami, Oklahoma. They made their home for many years in Topeka. He preceded her in death December 12, 1981.
Survivors include: her daughter, Valerie Harrington, and her husband, Brian Wright, Hays, Kansas; her granddaughter, Jessie Lee Harrington Wright, Hays, Kansas; and one sister, Margaret Olds, Miami, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Joseph Harrington.
Services are private.
