Rogena Lavell Randall, 84, died April 12, 2022, at Denver Hospice Care Center in Denver, Colorado. She was born on September 8, 1937, in Cimarron, the daughter of Norman and Neva Mills Belt.
Rogena went to school in Cimarron until she and her family moved to Sublette, where her family ran an appliance store. During her teenage years, her parents owned a movie theater in Satanta; where her dad ran the projector, her mom ran the ticket booth, and she ran the concession stand. Rogena graduated from Sublette High School in 1955, and then moved to Dodge City to attend Wilcox Beauty Academy; where she graduated in December of 1955. She worked at Mabels Beauty Shop in Sublette until her marriage to Doyal Brunson in 1956 and they moved to Garden City. Rogena worked until starting her family and then began staying home with their three children; Terri, Todd, and Tami, as well as babysitting her brother Karl and niece Jena. She later went back to work in a beauty shop. In 1976, the family moved to Dodge City, where Rogena worked in the beauty shop, and eventually owned her own shop, Scissor Palace. She and Doyal later divorced. In 1985 she married Robert L. Randall and moved to Ulysses where she worked until moving back to Dodge in 1998 where she retired.
Rogena loved to do crafts, sew, and was active in quilting. She also loved to play bingo.
She was a member of Miss Kitty Quilters. Rogena was also a member of the Oasis Church in Dodge City. She loved the Lord; her hope was to see all her loved ones in Heaven one day.
Rogena is survived by her daughter, Terri Quint and her husband Danny of Northfield, Minnesota; son, Todd Brunson of Dodge City; daughter in law, Lori Brunson of Salina; son in law, Marvin Jantz of Greensburg; step daughter, Debbie Andrasek of Great Bend; step son, Duane Randall and wife Natalia of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister, Janet Zimmerman of Fort Dodge; brother, Karl Belt and wife Lisa of Andover; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Neva; husband, Robert Randall; and daughter, Tami Jantz.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 1:00 PM with Jay Morford presiding. Burial will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Ft. Dodge. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
