Robert 'Bob' Lee Naegele

Memorial services for Robert “Bob” Lee Naegele, 72, of Jennings, La., will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday evening, April 11, 2021, with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m.

Bob passed away at 6:02 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021, in the Jennings American Legion Hospital with his wife, grandson and sister-in-law by his bedside.

His body will be cremated under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Bob was a native of Lucas, Kansas and a graduate of Lucas High School Class of 1966.  He attended Kansas Wesleyan University on a football scholarship.  He played football his freshman year.  He later attended Fort Hayes State University, then left school to work on the family wheat and dairy farm.  He farmed and milked cows until his retirement in 2010.  In 2012 he and his family moved to Jennings, Louisiana.

He loved to work in his garden, to fish and watch sports.  After he retired, he worked part time at Heartland Hay, a pet food plant that his wife Mary managed.  Bob was a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Lucas United Methodist Church.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Kimball Naegele of Jennings, one sister Carol Naegele Weeks of Cawker City, Kansas, one brother, Kent Naegele of Lucas, Kansas, one grandson, Cade Murphy of Jennings, Louisiana and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Margaret (Gilbreath) Naegele, a son, Audie Murphy and a daughter, Ashlye Murphy.
