Rooks County Health Center is excited to announce the addition of Glenda Wheeler, APRN, FNP-C, ENP-C, as our newest healthcare provider. A native of Wichita, Kansas, Glenda has called Hays home since 1994. She and her husband, Matt Wheeler, are avid travelers who have explored five continents and have several more on their list. They also enjoy antique vehicle restoration, with Glenda noting that Matt does most of the work.
Glenda is a familiar face in the medical community, having begun her career at Hays Medical Center as a nurse on the surgical floor before working as an RN in Trego County. After earning her Nurse Practitioner degree, she served at Ness County Hospital and then at Bluestem Medical in Quinter. Certified in both Family Practice and Emergency Care by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Glenda is passionate about health maintenance and preventative care. She also enjoys performing procedures such as Nexplanon implants, lesion excision, and joint injections. Glenda has expressed her enthusiasm for caring for individuals across all age groups, stating, "I love taking care of all ages throughout the lifespan."
Glenda holds a master’s degree in nursing and a Nurse Practitioner degree from Fort Hays State University. With her extensive experience and dedication, she is excited to begin this new chapter at Rooks County Health Center and looks forward to contributing to the well-being of our community.
