
Mildred Bertha Lippelmann, 95, was born on October 13, 1926, in Bladen,
NE. She was the 6th of 9 children born to Howard and Ruby (Goble)
Cramer. She graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1944. She took
normal training and taught at a country school near Thedford, NE. She
spent two years in Chicago working in a sporting goods factory.
She returned to Oberlin to be with her sister Esther Vernon and met
Gordon Lippelmann. They were married on Aug. 16, 1949. They lived on a
farm southwest of Oberlin. Three sons were born, Dan, Terry, and Jon.
Mildred worked at the Oberlin Cedar Living Center as a housekeeper for
23 years and at the Oberlin Livestock café for 8 years. She was a member
of the Oberlin Covenant Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Calico Gals
Club, Widows and Friends Club and a Royal Neighbor member. She and her
sisters enjoyed a vacation in Acapulco, Mexico. Millie was an avid
collector of things that pleased her, until her house burnt down in
2004. Since then, she has a collected a 1960’s craft of large glass
grapes.
She had 4 grandchildren, Stephanie, Milo, Wheat, and Rye. 7 great
grandchildren, Gregory, Baylee, Lane, Lakynn, Ryllie, Levi, and Lucas. 4
step great grandchildren, Brandon and Steven Gaede, McKayla (Michael)
Pepper, and Josie Franz, and 4 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gordon; 2
grandchildren, Stephanie and Rye; 4 sisters, Esther Vernon, Mary Belle
Stockes, Donna Faye Rose, and Joan Niles; 3 brothers William Cramer,
Vernon Cramer, and Glen Cramer.
Survivors include her 3 sons, Dan (Vickie) of Oberlin, KS, Terry of
Selden, KS, Jon (Marilyn) of Crystal Beach, TX; sister, Norma Lee
Swanstrom.
