Chemical spill temporarily closes Rarick Hall at FHSU

A chemical spill has temporarily closed Rarick Hall on the campus of Fort Hays State University, the school announced Wednesday morning.

The spill occurred on the first floor, and the Hays Fire Department is currently on scene. 

North Campus Drive also is temporarily shut down between the Schmidt Foundation Center for Art and Design and Park Street to allow a hazardous materials teams to contain the spill and decontaminate the area.

Renovation work has been underway at Rarick, which houses a mix of office and classroom space.
