2 adults, 8-year-old injured after Jeep strikes concrete barrier

THOMAS COUNTY—Three people were injured in an accident just before noon Monday in Thomas County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Jeep Cherokee driven by Stetson M. Barnes, 21, Warner Robbins, Georgia, was eastbound on Interstate 70 one mile west of Country Club Road.

The Jeep exited the roadway to the left, traveled several hundred feet in the median, exited the interstate overpass and collided with a concrete barrier on Range Avenue in Colby.

EMS transported Barnes and passengers 33-year-old Shaequala Shoulars and an 8-year-old girl, both from Omaha, to the hospital in Colby. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
