
Kathleen D. (Brown) Frusher, 73, passed away March 25, 2022, at Hays Medical Center from a stroke after a tough battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
She was born February 12, 1949, in Oklahoma City to Thomas W. and Roberta (Hammond) Brown of Hastings, Oklahoma.
Kathy graduated from Temple High School in Temple, Oklahoma and earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Oklahoma State University. She moved to Hanston, Kansas to teach school in 1976. There she met Larry R. Frusher and they were united in marriage on July 15, 1978 in Cashion, Oklahoma. They made their home for 43 years in northern Hodgeman County on the Frusher family farm homestead.
After starting their family, Kathy stayed home to be a homemaker and a bookkeeper for the farming operation. She was a member of Hodgeman Community Church and then Faith Fellowship Church and volunteered her time teaching Sunday school, children’s church, and Awana Club year after year. Nothing was more important to her than her relationship with Christ and teaching local children about Jesus.
She was also a member of a family consumer sciences club, FCE Sunny Sunflowers for many decades and enjoyed being a 4-H leader during her child rearing years.
Genealogy was one of her greatest passions and she was a member of the Kansas Genealogical Society and volunteered at their library weekly as well as producing their monthly newsletter.
Survivors include: two sons, Joey (Lacey) Frusher, Jetmore, Ben Frusher (Rosa Linda) Honduras: one daughter, Bobbi (T.J.) Orton, Lorimor, IA; two brothers, Tom L. (Jo) Brown, Cashion, OK, Bob Brown, Temple, OK, and three grandchildren, Isla Jo Frusher, Beau Ballard Frusher, and Samantha Grace Orton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry R. Frusher and a granddaughter, Katlyn Marie Orton.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Faith Fellowship Church, Hanston with Pastor Doug Ellison presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday with family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
