Judith Karen Dinkel

Judith Karen Dinkel, age 75, of Hays, Kansas died Monday, September 14, 2020, at the Rooks County Health Center, Plainville, Kansas.  She was born January 30, 1945, in Colby, Kansas to William and Esther (Yenick) Ryan.  She married Laren Dinkel in 1962 at Hays and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2011.

She was a phlebotomist for 25 years working in Colorado and for Quest Labs. in Hays.  She grew up in Colby and was a graduate of Colby High School.  She lived in Denver for a number of years and retired in 2009.  She moved to Plainville in 2012 until moving to Hays this year, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville. 

Survivors include her son, Sean Dinkel, Hays, KS; her daughter, Gian Marie Dinkel, Westminster, CO; three sisters, Jan Bainter and husband, Warren, Oberlin, KS; Marj Cheney, Syracuse, KS; Marilyn Ryan, Wichita, KS; several nephews and nieces.  

A memorial service will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 restrictions and inurnment will be at the Colby Cemetery , Colby, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in care of the mortuary.
