
Paul O. Schippers age 88, of Victoria, Kansas, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born January 26, 1937, to John M. and Anna C. (Kippes) Schippers. He married Theresa M. (Pfannenstiel) on October 22, 1962, in Hays, Kansas. She preceded him in death on June 15, 2012.
Paul spent his lifetime as a farmer, stockman, and custom harvester. He grew up in Victoria and was a 1955 graduate of Victoria High School. He was a member of The Basilica of Saint Fidelis and the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Victoria.
He served on the St. Fidelis Parish Council, as a board member for the Victoria Farmers CO-OP Grocery Store, as a councilman for the City of Victoria, and as a board member for the Farm Service Agency. He enjoyed watching sports and his grandchildren’s games and activities.
Paul is survived by his children, Paula Schumacher, Topeka, KS; Troy Schippers and wife, Geralyn, Victoria, KS; his grandchildren, Wade Schumacher (Ashley Wunder); Wyatt Schumacher; Sara Weber (Grant); Emily Lang (Ethan); Gracyn Schippers; Claire Schippers; his great grandchildren, Cameron Weber and Elsie Lang; his sisters, Lillian Leiker, Hays, KS; Sister Mary Ann Schippers C.S.A., Fond du Lac, WI; his sisters-in-law, Armella Schippers, Olathe, KS; Marietta Lies, Wichita, KS; Joann Schippers, Springfield, MO; Margie Pfannenstiel, Hays, KS; and his brother-in-law, Henry and wife, Mary Pfannenstiel, Hays, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Anna C. Schippers; his wife, Theresa; his son-in-law, Steve Schumacher; his brothers, Herman Schippers; George Schippers; John Schippers; Lawrence Schippers; Arthur Schippers; Norman Schippers; his sisters, Lucy Baier and Estella Kuhn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at The Basilica of Saint Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas with Celebrant, Father Curtis Carlson O.F.M. Cap. Burial will be in Saint Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.
A vigil service will be at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at The Basilica of Saint Fidelis.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday, and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, at The Basilica of Saint Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas.
