With the primary election less than a month away, the deadline to get registered to vote is quickly approaching.
Kansas residents have until July 12 to register for the Aug. 2 election.
According to Ellis County Clerk and Election Officer Bobbi Dreiling, voter registrations that are received in the election’s office after July 12 but postmarked on that day or before will be accepted and registrations sent in by email have to be received by midnight on July 12 will also be registered to vote.
Kansas can register online by clicking HERE.
Voters will be required to provide a driver’s license or a valid identification card.
Voter registration applications and advance mail ballot applications are available on the county website at ellisco.net.
In Ellis County, officials will start mailing out advanced ballots on July 13 and applications for advanced ballots will be taken until July 26 according to Dreiling.
Advanced voting in Ellis County begins on Monday, July 18, and will run through noon on Aug. 1 at the Administrative Center, 718 Main, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Dreiling said Ellis County is starting advanced voting a week before the state requires. Starting July 18 gives the voter an additional week to early vote.
On election day polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voter can see their ballot at myvoteinfo.voteks.org before heading to the polls or filling out their ballot.
Dreiling said if voters have any questions they can call the Ellis County Clerk’s office at 785-628-9410 or visit the county website at ellisco.net under the election tab.
