It was a wet month for Hays with the city receiving more than 7 inches of rain in July.
The Eagle Media Center received another 0.38 inches of rain between 6 a.m. Thursday and Friday morning.
Official totals were not immediately available from the K-State Ag Research Center.
As of Thursday morning, the Research Center reported that the city had received 6.97 inches of rain compared to an average of 3.33 inches for the month July.
Year-to-date moisture recorded at the Research Center as of Thursday morning was 16.62 inches compared to an average moisture of 14.68 inches by the end of July.
The National Weather Service forecasts 20 percent chance of thunderstorms for Hays on Saturday and Sunday nights with otherwise clear skies through Tuesday.
Highs are forecast for the mid-80s Friday and Saturday and the upper 70s Sunday through Tuesday.
Long-term forecasts predict rain chances from 20 percent to 40 percent Tuesday night through Thursday.
