Debra Ann “Debbie” Gaunt, 51, McCracken, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020, at her home.
Debbie was born January 5, 1969, in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Orville and Caroline (O’Brien) Gaunt Durand. She was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas. A 1987 graduate of Ransom High School, Ransom, Kansas, she was a tech sergeant in the United States Air Force for 23 years. While in the Air Force, she graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with her BA and MA. After her retirement from the Air Force, Debbie worked at the La Crosse Furniture Company, La Crosse, Kansas, for 18 years.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, McCracken, Kansas, and St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas. Debbie was honored to assist on the military honor detail for her fellow veterans. She was proud of her service to her country, and enjoyed wearing her military uniform on each Memorial Day.
She is survived by her husband, Eric Scriven, McCracken, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has been chosen. There will be no service at this time. A celebration of Debbie’s life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to the Debra A Gaunt Memorial Fund or to the Janousek Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
