The Hays Larks (4-0, 4-0 RMBL) ran their win streak to four straight with a doubleheader sweep of the Boulder Collegians Thursday in Boulder.
It took extra innings to decide the first game of the doubleheader but it was the Larks that came out on top thanks to Rayner Beene who hit two home runs, including an eighth inning homerun in a 7-5 victory.
Ty Schmeidler got the start for Hays. He gave up three hits and two runs, zero earned, over three innings, striking out two and walking two. But he did not factor into the decision.
Jaxon Ramos earned the win in relief for the Larks. He allowed two runs, one earned in 2 1/3 innings.
Brayden Huebner and Rayner Beene each collected a pair of hits. Beene drove in four runs.
The Larks offense cruised in the second game, scoring 23 runs on 18 hits in a 23-2 win in five innings.
Cade Green hit a home run and drove in seven runs on three hits to lead the Larks.
Austin Crawford and Brayden Huebner also homered for the Larks and they combined to drive in seven runs.
Green was 3-for-3. Cooper Holtorf also drove in three runs.
Max Hendrix allowed just two runs, one earned, on two hits, with seven strikeouts in five innings and picked up the win.
The Larks return to action on Monday against the Topeka Capitals.
