Thomas Louis Stejskal

Thomas Louis Stejskal, 72, passed away May 2, 2021, at Diversicare of Larned.

He was born February 17, 1949, in Great Bend, the son of Leonard Ralph and Anna Mae Cramer Stejskal.

A lifetime Pawnee and Edwards County area resident, he was a farmer/rancher; a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Endowment Board, Larned; Knights of Columbus #2141; Edwards County Extension Board; Edwards County 4-H Foundation; Big Bend Water District; Lewis CO-OP Board; Edwards County Program Development Committee; Santa Fe Trail Center Board, Larned; and the Soil Conservation District. He was a 1972 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a BS in Agriculture. He enjoyed working in his shop, building things, welding, and was an avid reader.  He especially enjoyed visiting and teasing his family, his friends and his neighbors and giving many of them nicknames.  He was quite proud of all the accomplishments and achievements of his four grandsons and always gave his wife flowers, making sure to always sneak in a yellow rose on her birthday and Valentines Day.   He hoped to be remembered as being a trustworthy and honest person. 

On August 8, 1970, he married Donna M. Morgan at Hays, Kansas; she survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Ross Thomas Stejskal, Colby; a daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Marie Stedje, Larned; three brothers, Anthony “Tony” (Chris) Stejskal, Abilene, Timothy “Tim” Stejskal, Larned, Theodore “Ted” (Joyce) Stejskal, Wichita; and four grandchildren, Brendan Stejskal, Bryson Stejskal, John Stedje, and Reed Stedje.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Anna Marie “Susie” Stejskal.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned, with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Service will be viewable via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with a vigil and rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Larned Cemetery at a later date.
