A strong storm system moving into western Kansas could make travel hazardous beginning Friday afternoon and into Saturday.

The National Weather Service also warned of increased fire danger as the front brings with it north winds ranging from 25 to 45 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph.

The NWS warned of possible blowing dust, which could impact travel.

There is a very slight chance of rain or snow beginning between 8 and 9 p.m. Friday.

The front also will lead to a dramatic temperature drop. Thursday's projected high is nearly 60 degrees, while the high Saturday is expected to only reach 28 degrees.
