
Chancey “Red” Floyd Perry Jr.; (1925-2020); age 94; husband, father,
grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, retired resident of El
Dorado, Kansas; passed away on July 17, 2020.
He was a WWII Navy Veteran
and retired from Occidental Petroleum (Cities Services), where he
worked for 34 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 81 in
El Dorado.
He was born September 12, 1925 in Jennings, Oklahoma to Chancey (Dutch) and Flora (Ogden) Perry.
He married Betty A. Arnel on December 13, 1948, in Russell, Kansas. They
were married for 69 years. Chancey has gone to be with his love, friend
and helpmate.
Chancey loved to boat, fish and hunt. He really liked catching crappie.
He enjoyed playing Mexican dominoes with family and friends.
His daughter always knew he was someone you could depend on. As his
grandson expressed it, Red loved his family deeply, but was cautious
about expressing it. He showed his love by his constant presence and
actions. He will be deeply missed by his family.
Preceded in death by his wife Betty A. Perry, parents Dutch and Flora Perry, one sister, Marybelle Robinson.
Chancey is survived by his daughter Twila (Fred) Carver, grandchildren
Michelle Carson and Anthony Carver, three great-grandchildren and one
sister, Florine Clarke.
Friends may gather with the family from 9:30-10:30am on Thursday, July
23 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home in El Dorado. Funeral services will
be held at 11am on Thursday, July 23 at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El
Dorado. Memorial contributions in Red’s name may be directed to the El
