United Way of Ellis County awards Champions Circle Trophies

The United Way of Ellis County recently presented the Champions Circle Trophies to two well-deserving area businesses.

The Small Business award went to Bank of Hays for the second year in a row.  They have been a great supporter of United Way with their workplace campaign and several of their employees serving as board members over the years. 

“We are very excited to have won the Small Business Champions Circle Trophy once again," said John Clarke, CFO of Bank of Hays. "Our employees have always been actively involved in United Way of Ellis County and support its mission of giving back to our community.  Thank you to Erica, the board of directors and all involved with United Way for everything they do to positively impact the people of Ellis County.”

Midwest Energy was this year’s Large Business Champions Circle Trophy winner.  This will also be their second time winning this award.  They and their employees have also been a consistent supporter of the United Way of Ellis County.

The United Way of Ellis County’s Champion Circle Trophy is given out to two businesses every year that have the highest giving per capita.  The Small Business award is given to a business with 50 employees or less and the Large Business award is given to businesses with 51 employees or more.  To learn how your business can hold a workplace campaign, contact the United Way at 785-628-8281 or [email protected]
