Grady Michael Best, age 8 days, peacefully went to his heavenly home
with the angels, while in the loving arms of his parents, on Saturday,
October 10, 2020, in Denver, Colorado. Grady was born Friday, October
2, 2020, at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado to his
parents, Heath and Mackenzie (Mense) Best. Shortly after his birth, he
was baptized, always a child of a loving God.
Grady was tiny but a real fighter from the moment he was born. He
had a huge personality which he demonstrated in many ways. He really
enjoyed teasing his favorite nurses by wriggling off his heart monitors,
grabbing the cords they were handling, and working his little arms free
so he could push his plastic warming blanket down if it happened to
touch his chin. Grady was already a K-State fan, and liked to show off
his purple blanket. The nurses loved Grady and always wanted to be
assigned to care for him. He was one popular little guy.
Grady was an amazing little boy, born to loving and caring parents
who felt so blessed to have him in their lives. Grady would listen to
his parents, who were constantly by his side. He loved holding onto
their fingers, and the taste of the milk when they swabbed his mouth.
Grady loved music, and would move his mouth as his parents sang to him.
Their voice and touch brought him great comfort as he felt their love
pouring upon him. Although Grady was only eight days old when the angels
took him home to the arms of Jesus, he was such a joy to his family. He
taught them many things in his short time here, and they feel so
blessed by this little miracle. Grady and his parents were so lucky to
have such a strong, loving support system of family and friends to pray
for this precious little boy who was so loved.
Grady is survived by his parents, Heath and Mackenzie Best of Hoxie,
Kansas; grandparents, Mike and Cheri Mense and Todd and Beckie Best all
of Hoxie, great-grandparents, Don and Flo Mense, Gerald and Helen Heim,

and Godfather, Ben Mense (Tori) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; aunt and

God needed one more angel amidst his shining band, and so he bent
with a loving smile and clasped our Grady’s hand. He’ll keep him in His
loving care, free of tears and pain, where he will laugh and play with
Angels, until we meet again.
