Rosetta Aschenbrenner, 75, of Ellis passed Saturday, October 3, 2020, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born July 27, 1945, to Clarence and Lillian Schmidt in Hays. Rosetta attended Ellis High School. On November 27, 1961, Rosetta married Robert Aschenbrenner at St. Mary’s Church in Ellis.
Retiring from Enersys in July 2019 after many years of employment, Rosetta took joy in spoiling her grandkids, playing bingo and rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs and KU basketball teams.
Survivors include four children: Rose (Jeff) Hertel, Ellis; Ricky Aschenbrenner, Wichita; Rhonda (Evan) Hadley, Hays; and Roy (Holly) Aschenbrenner, Ellis. Siblings include Harold (Myrtle) Schmidt, Opelousas, La; John (Twila) Schmidt, Tina (Dave) Keller, and Kenny (Kim) Schmidt, all of Ellis. Grandchildren include Kim Robinson, David Bieker, Jessica Bradza, Kyle Hadley, Sarah Pletcher, Rebecca Bittel, Hannah Aschenbrenner and Hayden Aschenbrenner. Surviving great-grandchildren are Hadlee, Jace and Jett Brazda, Emma Bieker, Camilla Robinson and Drake Pletcher.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, and two sisters: Betty Barenberg and Darlene Schmidt.
