⛳ HHS girls' open season with dominant win at own invitaitonal

HAYS - The Hays High girls’ golf team opened their new season Monday by winning their own tournament. The Indians shot a 320 at Smoky Hill Country Club and won the Hays High Invitational by 47 strokes over second place Garden City. Salina South finished third with a 399.

Five of Hays High's six golfers finished in the top-10 led by Abbie Norris who fired a 6-over-par 75 and finished in second place, one-shot behind Garden City’s Jerike Lopez. Jaycee Oakley finished fourth with a 77, Evyn Cox is fifth with an 83 and Ashlynn Banker sixth with an 85.

Lily Garrison placed eighth with an 86 but it did not count toward the team standings.

The Indians return to action on Tuesday, September 5 at the Salina Central Invitational.
