SMITH CENTER - After going 3-2 at a tournament in Wamego over the weekend, the TMP-Marian volleyball faced two ranked opponents at the Smith Center quadrangular Tuesday. The Monarchs split with the ranked teams then blew out Russell to go 2-1 on the night.
The Monarchs (19-5), who are ranked seventh in the latest KVA poll, defeated Smith Center, who is ranked fourth in 2A, 25-20, 15-25, 25-19.
They lost to Phillipsburg, who’s ranked eighth in 3A, 18-25, 25-23 and 23-25.
TMP closed out the night with a quick sweep of Russell 25-4, 25-8.
The Monarchs are off until Tuesday, October 6th when they host Ulysses at Al Billinger Fieldhouse.
