Several area runners qualified for next weekend’s state cross country meets. Makenna Kohl of Ellis placed eighth at the Great Bend 2A regional at Lake Barton. Teammate Macy Eberly finished 11th.
Planville’s Michael Garvert finished 18th to qualify in the 2A boys race along with Tate Roland of Ellis who placed 21st but was 10th among the runners from non-qualifying schools.
The Quinter boys and girls both won the Ness City 1A regional to qualify as a team. The Ness City girls placed third.
