Following high school, Bob proudly served six years in the United States Army. He later made Lincoln, Nebraska, his home and enjoyed a career as a fraud and fire investigator. Service to others remained a defining part of his life. After retiring in 2007, he and Cindy moved to Woodland Park, Colorado, where he volunteered with the sheriff's office, fire department, and Colorado Rangers. They later settled in Sahuarita, Arizona, where he continued serving his community as a volunteer with the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
Retirement also gave Bob and Cindy the opportunity to enjoy one of their greatest adventures together, traveling the country and exploring in their camper. Wherever they went, Bob never met a stranger. His warm smile, contagious laugh, and signature dimples made people feel instantly at ease. He loved children, adored dogs, his two crazy cats, and was often the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter to everyone around him.
Bob will be remembered most for his generous heart, his sense of humor, and a lifetime devoted to serving others, loving his family, and making friends wherever he went. If you knew Bob, you probably left the conversation smiling. A private memorial service will be held in the Colorado mountains at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
