Sharon Louise Smolik, 74, passed away October 23, 2021, at Medicalodges of Great Bend. She was born on November 18, 1946, at Great Bend to Bill & Hilda (Ehrlich) Galliart. She married Robert Smolik on November 28, 1963, at Great Bend.
A lifetime Great Bend resident, Sharon was a hostess and cook for various places in town, including, USD 428 Central Kitchen, Kiowa Kitchen, Great Bend Learning Center and the Dominican Sisters of Peace. She most recently retired from True Value. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altar Society, VFW Post #3111, and the American Legion Post #180 Auxiliary. Sharon loved to cook and especially spend time with family.
Survivors include, her husband Robert Smolik of the home; a daughter, Darla Stroud and husband Huie of Great Bend; two granddaughters, Jamie Johnson and husband Scott, and Jessika Stroud; and two great grandchildren, Hunter and Kolton. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Galliart, and her mother, Hilda Meisner.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Bryant Funeral Home, with Altar Society rosary at 4:00 p.m. and Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 29, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend, with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend.
Memorials have been designated to Kindred Hospice or Shriner's Travel Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
