NW Kansas woman hospitalized after semi, SUV crash

CHEYENNE COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 5p.m. Thursday in Cheyenne County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2024 Peterbilt semi driven by William H. Troyer, 27, Wilburton, Oklahoma, was northbound on Kansas Highway 27 at the County Road 7 Junction.

The semi began to pass a northbound Subaru Outback driven by Sara Mullins, 36, St. Francis, just as she was making a left turn onto County Road J.

The semi struck the SUV. Both vehicles came to rest on the east shoulder of the highway.

EMS transported Mullins to the Cheyenne County Hospital. Troyer was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
