Hays High School Athletic Director Lance Krannawitter informed Hays Post that at Wednesday's Western Athletic Conference meetings, the optional trial of shot clock usage had been voted in.

"The WAC approved the implementation of the 35 second shot clock trial for all WAC games and home games vs non-conference opponents beginning next school year 2024-25.  As per the KSHSAA trial policy, this will not include the post season."
