Virginia E. Taylor, 96, Alexander, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse, Kansas.

Virginia was born November 9, 1925, in Alexander, Kansas, the daughter of Frank Avery and Josephine Myrtle (Foster) Thompson.  She was a resident of Alexander, Kansas, for 60+ years.  A 1943 graduate of Alexander High School, Alexander, Kansas, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and Golden Keys, both of Alexander, Kansas.

On October 10, 1948, she married Stanley S. Taylor at a friend’s home in Morton, Texas.  He preceded her in death May 28, 1981.

Survivors include:  two sons, Steven Taylor (Andrea), Phoenix, Arizona, and Michael Taylor (Shelly), Wickenburg, Arizona; one  daughter, Carla Strobach (William), Raymore, Missouri; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Duane Thompson, and Ural Thompson; and one sister, Darlene Werhahn.

Funeral service will be Monday, January 31, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with Pastor Deb Harvey officiating.  Interment will be in the McCracken City Cemetery, McCracken, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the Alexander Fire Department, Alexander, Kansas, or the McCracken Library, McCracken, Kansas.
