Mission-minded women in the Natoma American Legion Auxiliary Unit 109 continue dedicating countless hours throughout the year.
In October, charters of the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary in 1919 were on display with signatures of the founding men and women. Also displayed were posters of WWII.
Jenjer Murphy, Unit 109 president, and officers reported on hosting the National American Legion Commander Jim LaCoursiere from the national headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Commander emphasized the national “Be The One” priority in reducing the rate of veteran suicide.
With Constitution Day, October 20, the Auxiliary recently distributed copies of the United States of America Constitution to each of the Natoma USD 399 high school government students.
Also, on the agenda was the final organization for the 15th annual Veterans Day Salute, November 11, co-hosted with Natoma-Paradise-Waldo USD 399 presenting a musical production with pre-K through 12 grades.
Veterans are invited to share their stories with photographs and service memorabilia in “Every Hero Has A Story, join a panel discussion, and have lunch with students.
Fort Dodge Soldiers Home Christmas donations continue to be collected.
The event is open to the public. For God and Country, the American Legion Auxiliary continue serving veterans, their families, children, youth, and community throughout the year.
