A little more than three inches of snow was the official measurement from Wednesday's blizzard in Hays.
The report from the K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town noted it was a little difficult to measure the snow due to blowing and drifting.
Precipitation from the sleet and melted snow was 0.40 inches.

The 158 year cumulative average amount of precipitation by the end of March is 2.46 inches. Hays currently sits at 2.11 inches.
According to the weekly U.S. Drought Monitor for Kansas, Ellis County continues to remain in moderate drought. The extreme western portion of the county is slightly better with a rating of abnormally dry.
The measurements were made Tuesday morning, prior to Wednesday's blizzard.
