Thomas Harry “Tom” Mullen, 78, passed away on November 13, 2021, in
Oberlin, Kansas. He was born on March 17, 1943, in Tacoma, Washington, to
Jim and Charlotte Mullen.
Tom grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School in
1961. After high school Tom joined the Navy. On August 20, 1980, Tom
married Barbara Roberson in Benicia, California. In his spare time he
loved to work in his yard, talk cars and helping people how ever he
could. Tom was also very involved with the United Church and the Art
and Humanities in the Oberlin area. Tom was a very loving and caring
husband, father, grandfather, and he just became a great grandfather.
Tom is survived by wife; Barbara Mullen, sons; Steven Wayne Hollars,
John Carl Hollars, and Robert Lloyd Hollars; grandchildren; Shane
Hollars, Elizabeth Hollars, and Emily Hollars; great grandchild; Archer
Strunk-Martin, brother; Patrick James Mullen, cousins; Ken Hodge,
Patrick Mullen, Barbara Schultz, and Marilyn Higgins. He was preceded in
death by his parents, daughter; Denise Renee Hollars, and son; Larry
Ronald Hollars.
