UPDATE: Hays school board to receive report from cyber expert; consider fee reduction

The Hays USD 489 school will hear a report from cyber security expert Dallas Haselhorst at its meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Rockwell Administration Center.

Haselhorst was hired after the school district experienced a data breach in February.

Corrected 9 a.m. Tuesday to clarify Haselhorst was not asked to provide a written report prior to Monday's meeting. 

The board is also set to discuss a driver education car bid and student fees for the 2022-23 school year.

The following were the bids on the car:

• Lewis — Corolla Cross $33,261 should be in by 4/15 — 2022 pearl — 0 miles
• Lewis — Escape hybrid $32,000 — in stock — 2020 black — 13650 miles
• Lewis — Escape $28,225 — in stock — 2020 silver — 18619 miles
• Lewis — Rav4 $29,975 — should be in by 6/1 — 2022 white — 0 miles
• Lewis — Journey $27,750 — in stock — 2020 grey — 18503 miles

Below are the proposed fees for the 2022-23 school year. Several fees would be reduced, including the HHS and HMS ID, summer weights and driver's education fees.
