👟 Hays girls 2nd, boys 4th at Boot Hill Invite

DODGE CITY - The Hays High girls cross country team took second at the Boot Hill Invitational on Thursday in Dodge City. The Indians placed between Western Athletic Conference teams Garden City and Dodge City.

Garden City claimed the top three individual spots. Arely Maldonado was the top Hays finisher in fourth at 22:27. Brynn Kinderknecht and Mika Zimmerman were 7th and 8th. Avery Winter, Jaycine Watson and Aralen Maupin crossed 11th, 12th and 13th. Julia Zadina and Cara Cunningham  landed in the top twenty at 18th and 19th.

The Garden City boys took the top spot and claimed the first six spots individually. Taevian Maupin-Dabney was the top Hays finisher in 14th. Elijah McCullough was 18th.

The Indians next compete in Lawrence at the Rim Rock Classic on Saturday, September 24th.
