Maria Gonzalez de Olivas, 85, passed away March 20, 2021, at University Of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus. She was born September 27, 1935, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Roberto and Maria (Chavira) Gonzalez. Maria married Pascual Olivas March 30, 1959, in Chihuahua, Mexico.
Maria, a homemaker, has been a Great Bend resident since 2010. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Family members include husband Pascual Gonzalez De Olivas, of the home; four sons, Raymundo Olivas, Armando Olivas, Pascual Olivas and Roberto Olivas; three daughters, Isela Olivas, Alma Rosa Olivas, Rosa Elvia Olivas; two brothers, Rodolpo Gonzalez and Leandro Gonzalez; and one sister, Emilia Gonzalez.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Don Bedore. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery North. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with a vigil and rosary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021, with Father Terrance Klein.
