Terril Dee McBride

Terril Dee McBride, 75, went to meet his Lord and Savior, December 12, 2020, at Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was Born February 10, 1945, in Dodge City, Kansas, and grew up in an old farm house between Fellsburg and Centerview, Kansas. He was the son of M. Earl McBride and Fern (Myers) McBride. He was a Medical Administrator for a group of Doctors for Medical Radiology in Chickasha, Ok and surrounding cities.

Terril graduated from Lewis high school in 1963. He had a Southwestern College Scholarship to play football in Winfield, Kansas. While in College he was All Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Half Back in Football. He received his Masters Degree from Kansas State University and continued his doctorate studies at Oklahoma University, Go Sooners! Terril married his high school sweetheart Christina McLean on February 11, 1967 in Lewis, Kansas and they had been married for 53 years. He served in the Army medical field San Antonio hospital second lieutenant and later made Captain in the Army Reserve. He a was member of Masonic Chickasha Lodge #94, A.F.&A.M.  he also was a Thirty Second degree Scottish Rite Mason of Guthrie Consistory. He spent a year as the National President of Radiologist Business Managers Association. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chickasha, OK. Terril was instrumental in organizing, fundraising and helping to facilitate AU tournaments for baseball all throughout Chickasha and the surrounding cities. His biggest accomplishment was the L.J. Powell Baseball Complex at the Chickasha High School. In retirement you would often find Terril taking trips to the post office, golfing, hunting, traveling to visit his children, grandchildren, friends and he loved coming back home to Kansas and was always ready to help with harvest every year. He enjoyed his winters in Mesa Arizona where he spent time as Mayor of S street. He was a devoted husband and brother, a very dedicated and present father who doted on his grandchildren and daughters in law. There was not one thing you could ask of him that he wouldn’t do for his family. He was a great friend, a beloved son-in-law, son and brother. He will be remembered for his laughter, smiles, kindness, intelligence, and friendship. His daily calls to his sons will be missed immeasurably. He was their best friend, their guide, their compass. He was the biggest champion to all that knew him. He was the Best Papa in the whole world! He loved his family fiercely!

Survivors include his loving wife, Christina, two sons, Kip (Noelle) McBride, Reading Pennsylvania, Kyle (Nicole) McBride, San Diego, California; Five Grandchildren, Weston McBride, Autumn McBride, Logan McBride, Hunter McBride and Tristan Barnett; One best friend and sister, Bonita McBride, Larned, Kansas; two cousins, Paula K. Peppard and Jay O’Conner; lastly his adored niece, nephews and great nieces and nephew.

Predeceased by his parents M. Earl McBride and Fern McBride.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2020, at the United Methodist Church, Lewis, Kansas with Rev. Melissa Naylor presiding.  Service will be viewable via facebook live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at Beckwith Mortuary, 916 Main St., Larned. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery, Lewis KS with Masonic graveside rites provided by Masonic Lodge #220 and Military graveside rites provided by United States Army and Kinsley VFW Post #7349
