After graduating from Great Bend High School, Rick proudly joined and served in the United States Air Force. Later in life, he became a truck driver out of Hutchinson before he returned to Great Bend, becoming the full time care giver to his elderly parents.

Rick was very inquisitive! He loved to talk, ask questions and read. Rick spent hours chatting with loved ones. He had a profound interest in NASA since childhood and save every correspondence he had ever received. “Uncle Buck” was the nickname he jokingly gave himself for his nieces and nephew to call him by and he loved them so very much. Working on cars or walking his dog Buddy around Veteran’s Memorial Park were his favorite past times.

Survivors include, his oldest sister, Sharon Alexander and her husband Leon of Temecula, Calif.; his nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Linda Jo.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place, and there will be no services per his request. His final resting place will be at Miramar National Cemetery in California.
