The Hays school district released its COVID-19 and influenza policies for the school year at the school board meeting Monday.

The policy is the same as last year and will involve no contact tracing.

The school district will offer onsite COVID-19 testing. The district has been doing tests, but no regular testing times have been set at Rockwell Administration Center at this time.

If a student tests positive, they will be asked to quarantine for five days from the onset of symptoms.

Students may return to activities on day six if they are fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medications for at least 24 hours and other symptoms are significantly improved.

Students will be asked to wear a mask for an additional five days upon return.
