🥎 Walkoff gives Monarchs sweep over Ellis

HAYS – Karli Komerek’s one-out single to center scored Kaydence Kendall from third with the game winning run leading the TMP-Marian softball team to a 6-5 walkoff win over Ellis in game two of their doubleheader Tuesday at the TMP Field. The Monarchs (5-1, 2-0 MCL) won the opener 13-2.

Sophia Coulter reached on an error and advanced to second to open the bottom of the seventh in game two. After an intentional walk to Hannah Garcia, Madison Augustine flied out to the shortstop then Alexa Ryersee lines to short advancing Kendall to third and Garcia to second. Kendall then came in to run for Coulter at third and scored on Komarek’s single.

Madison Augustine allowed one run on not hits with five strikeouts and three walks in 4 2/3 innings of relief for the win. Starter Kyleigh Allen allowed four runs on two hits with one strikeout and two walks over 2 1/3 innings.

The Monarchs trailed game one 2-1 when they scored five runs in the second and seven in the third in the game called after five due to run-rule.

Emilee Augustine had three of the Monarchs 14 hits and drove in two. Jaci VonLintel went 2-for-4 and knocked in three runs. Halle Dreiling also had two RBIs.

Madison Augustine went distance allowing two runs on four hits with eight strikeouts and two walks over five innings.
