2 Kansas women hospitalized after pickup, car crash

RUSSELL COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 11:30a.m. Saturday in Russell County.

The Kansas Highway  Patrol reported a 2010 Nissan Titan driven by Joy L Torrez, 63, Great Bend was westbound on 15th Street Road approximately three miles north of Interstate 70.

The driver failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of 200th Boulevard.   The pickup collided with a 2018 Chevy Malibu driven by Allyson Jayna  Kaiser, 19, Great Bend, in the northwest corner of the intersection.

After impact the pickup traveled in a northwest direction, rolled one time and came to rest in the ditch. The car also came to rest in the ditch.

EMS transported Torrez to Russell Regional Medical Center. A private vehicle transported Kaiser to the hospital in Great Bend. Torrez was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
