Sunflower Electric Power Corp. promotes Brian Oller

Sunflower Electric Power Corp. (Sunflower) has promoted Brian Oller to manager of maintenance.

Oller will be responsible for managing centralized maintenance of Sunflower’s generation resources. He will establish and manage strategic plans and objectives in support of Sunflower’s maintenance departments and ensure Sunflower’s generation resources are maintained within applicable permits, regulations, standards, and best practices.

A native of Garden City, Kan., Oller attended Garden City Community College where he studied pre-engineering. With Sunflower since 2002, he served as the mechanical supervisor and was instrumental in enhancing Sunflower’s maintenance operations.

Oller has a strong mechanical and machining background and oversaw Sunflower’s vibration analysis program, earning his Category III certification from The Vibration Institute.

He was involved with a recent teardown, inspection, and repair of Sunflower’s steam turbine and generator at the Garden City Station and was instrumental in coordinating significant, maintenance-related projects for Holcomb Station’s maintenance outage.

Oller and his wife, Stacy, live in Garden City. They recently welcomed their first granddaughter to the family and enjoy watching her learn and grow. He also enjoys riding motorcycles with fellow riders in their Ride and Dine group.
