Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Slagle, 80, passed away on July 29, 2020 at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. She was born on January 20, 1940 in Cainsville, MO the daughter of Forrest Carl and Mary (Bain) Dinsmore.
Beth was a secretary for the Ness County Road and Bridge Department for over 20 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she was part of the Naomi Circle. She owned and operated Beth’s Flower and Craft Shop. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, ESA, the Do Little Club, and the Saturday afternoon beer and Bible group. She married John Vyrl Slagle on June 15, 1958, in Ness City, Kansas. He died on February 7, 2018.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Tracy and husband, Steve Proctor of Ness City, Verla and husband, Scott King of Olmitz, KS; brother, Michael Dinsmore of LaCrosse; sister, Sandy Crombie of Springfield, MO; 2 grandchildren Devon King, Raegan (Cole) McCurry, and a step-grandchild, Clayton Proctor. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Vyrl Slagle; brother, James Dinsmore; and sisters, Vicki and husband Wayne Peterson, Sherry Evel, and Patricia Hawn.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church, Ness City, KS. Burial in the Ness City Cemetery, Ness City, KS. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Monday, August 3, 2020 from 1:00 – 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
