
Darrell Gene Skinner passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton, Kansas.
Darrell was born to his parents, Elliott and Bessie (Thomas) Skinner, at
their home in the country. He was 91 years old. He graduated from
school at Bel Plaine, Kansas and moved to Hugoton to farm with his
father.
This was his dream. He called himself a Steward of God’s land.
He married his wife Virginia Hatfield, and she moved west. She knew as
his wife; labor was never doing that, and the land became one. They
were married 72 years and spent that entire time together.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Skinner, Hugoton, KS.; daughter,
Sheryl Barricklow and husband Wes, Topeka, KS.; Daughter- in- law, Linda
Skinner, Hugoton, KS.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Barricklow,
Topeka, KS., Shawna Riffel and husband Laird, Abilene, KS., CJ Skinner
and wife Marcala, Hugoton, KS.; five great grandchildren, Mackenzie
Riffel, Clay Center, KS., Madesyn Riffel, Hays, KS., Spencer Riffel,
Abilene, KS., Ava and Eli Skinner, Hugoton, KS.; other relatives and
friends.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, son, Randy Skinner, two brothers, Adrian and Mervin Skinner; sister, Ruth Heckman.
A memorial has been established for the Lone Star Friends Church.
