KDOT: Westbound I-70 closed from Hays to Oakley

The Kansas Department of Transportation has reopened eastbound lanes of I-70 between the Colorado border and Oakley. Both directions remain closed between Salina and Oakley because of disabled vehicles blocking the roadway.

Several state highways have also reopened throughout northwest Kansas.

The Kansas Department of Transportation has reopened the westbound lanes of I-70 from Oakley to the Colorado border. I-70 remains closed in both directions between Salina and Oakley because of winter weather conditions and disabled vehicles blocking the roadway.

Other reopened routes in northwest Kansas include:

  1. U.S. 36 between Norton and the Colorado border
  2. U.S. 40 between Oakley and the Colorado border
  3. U.S. 24 between Colby and Levant
  4. K-25 between U.S. 40 and the Nebraska border
  5. K-27 between Sharon Springs and the Nebraska border

Several highways east of U.S. 83 also remain closed because of winter weather conditions and roadway blockages. Any non-essential travel should continue to be delayed until conditions improve.
