Curtis Delmar Keil, 60, of Russell, Kansas, died on Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas after a tragic auto accident.

Curtis was born on July 2, 1960, in Russell County, Kansas, the son of Delmar H. and Barbara J. (Peters) Keil.  He grew up in the Russell, Paradise and Natoma, Kansas areas, and graduated from Russell High School.  He was married to Peggy Eulert and from this union they were blessed with 3 boys David, Drew and Owen.  Curtis and Peggy divorced and later he was married to Debbie LaBarge.  He worked many years for Lario Oil and Gas Inc..  In the past he was a volunteer fireman for the Paradise Fire Department.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and was considered a gifted handyman that could tackle most do it yourself projects around the house including construction and electrical work.

Surviving family include his wife Debbie; sons David Keil of Kansas City, Missouri, Drew Keil of Overland Park, Kansas and Owen Keil of Kansas City, Missouri; step children Weston Schurz, Tessie Foltz and Jevon Hejny; brother Dale Keil and sister Sheila Keil both of Russell, Kansas and 7 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Curtis’ life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell, Kansas.  Burial will follow at the Russell City Cemetery.  Family will greet guests the day of the service.  Memorials can be given to the Curtis Keil Memorial Fund and sent in care of the mortuary.  Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
