OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Fort Hays State sophomore goalkeeper Payton Roehrich was named the GAC Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season on Tuesday. It was the fifth time in his career at FHSU earning the honor.
Roehrich posted a combined shutout and individual shutout this past week, helping the Tigers to road wins over Harding and Ouachita Baptist. He played the first 75 minutes of the 2-0 win against Harding, then played all 90 minutes of the 1-0 win over Ouachita Baptist. Roehrich had to make one save against Harding, but the Tiger defense in front of him was solid for the week allowing only 5.5 shots per match. Roehrich lowered his goals against average for the season to 0.46.
Roehrich was also named the GAC Goalkeeper of the Week this season on September 8 and September 22.
Roehrich joins Wesley Rodriguez of Southern Nazarene (Offensive Player of the Week) and Avelino Rosa of Northeastern State (Defensive Player of the Week) as the weekly honorees from the conference office.
